Plein Air
Painting in Oils
Painting outdoors
allows you to observe the landscape first hand.
Plein Air painting
is done quickly in order to catch the light and the
mood of a
landscape. The result can be a finished piece or a study for a
studio painting.
The first class meeting you will get a materials list
and an overview of
the role of plein air painting in present day art.
We will discuss how
to go about painting outdoors and complete a color
mixing exercise. In
the second class, we will be painting outdoors on campus.
Some painting
experience is recommended.
